Mahad Learning Centre, has become a vital educational resource for financially challenged families in the community of Kawempe Division. With some students studying for free, the school has expanded its offerings to include comprehensive education from Kindergarten to Primary Seven along with extracurricular activities like swimming, Music, Dance and drams, debating and environmental awareness
After observing the challenges faced by parents and children, plans were initiated to establish a new school to serve Kawempe and the neighboring communities, aiming to enhance educational access and support for local families.
Mahad Learning Centre was opened in 2018 with just 10 children, operating out of a modest rented space that could accommodate up to 100 people, reflecting a humble beginning focused on meeting the educational needs of the community.
The numbers kept growing, prompting Mahad Learning Centre to acquire its own premises, which now accommodates a larger student body and provides a more suitable learning environment to support its expanding community.
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we effectively prepared our first-ever group of students to sit for the UNEB primary leaving examination, showcasing our dedication to maintaining educational standards.
